👋 Nice to Meet You, Neighbor!

Have you been to the last few AFC Ann Arbor home games? Hopefully you were able to stop by our table to say hello, sign the petition, or just to learn more!

The AFC Ann Arbor games weren't the only place volunteers showed up overt the past few weeks. We also want to extend a HUGE thank you to all of the neighbors who came out for our Volunteer Gathering on June 29th. Not to worry if you couldn’t make it out, we’ve got you covered.

📝 Volunteer Gathering Recap

More than 20 of you turned out for our first in-person Volunteer Gathering and you shared your vision for an affordable, equitable, sustainable, and dynamic future for all of our neighbors. Some of the words you shared on our vision boarding exercise include:

Volunteers also heard from guest speakers Jonathan Levine and Aidan Sova. Levine is a Faculty Affiliate with the A Alfred Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning: Urban Planning at University of Michigan and a University Affiliate for the Center for Sustainable Systems. Sova is the Vice President of the Ann Arbor District Library Board of Trustees, the youngest Black person elected to any office in Ann Arbor.

Hang in there, signs are coming, demand is high so we had to order more! Please consider chipping in to help cover the costs - just write “More Neighbors A2” in the Designation Field. Just $20 would cover the cost of signs for you and your three nearest neighbors!

🌇 Volunteer Opportunities

Passionate about a more inclusive Ann Arbor but short on time? We get it! At Neighbors for More Neighbors, we believe every bit of help counts. You can contribute as much or as little as you'd like, and still play a crucial part in our mission. Here are a few ways you can volunteer:

Share Your Vision: Submit photos of the vibrant Ann Arbor that you want to see grow. You may have seen some examples on our Instagram, but we welcome many more! Snap a picture as you’re walking around town and share it in the #communications channel on Discord or email it to [email protected].

Be an Outreach Champion: Reach out to local organizations and businesses to encourage them to endorse our petition, display a sign, or make a donation.

Amplify Your Voice: Share your perspective with decision-makers. Write in or speak at Planning Commission or City Council meetings. We're here to help you craft your message and make sure your voice is heard.

Spread the Word (Literally!): Help us increase visibility by delivering signs requested by our supporters around Ann Arbor.

Connect with Community: Meet fellow neighbors and chat about More Neighbors A2's mission at our Table Events. We would love your presence at our table for the upcoming events:

Signing the petition is the most crucial step you can take as a part of Neighbors for more Neighbors. It's how we directly demonstrate our community's strong support for more housing options, turning our collective vision into tangible action that policymakers simply can't ignore. This month, we’re asking everyone to invite 10 people—friends, coworkers, your book club—to sign the petition.
